Exam Hall Rules for FBISE Examinations

Board exams can be a confusing experience for 9th class students. It is their first time appearing for the Federal Board examinations. Therefore, they often worry about the correct ways to study, how to prepare, amount of past papers to solve, and the rules for sitting in the examination hall.

The Federal Board is known among students to be more tough than other educational boards. It is also more strict when it comes to exam hall rules, paper presentation, and etiquette for attempting the FBISE final exams.

Exam Hall Rules for FBISE Examinations

  1. Visit the examination hall prior to the commencement of the exams. This way, you will learn the directions and how long it takes to reach, so you won’t get lost or late on the day of final exams.
  2. Arrive early to the exam hall on the day of your exam. For FBISE final exams, it is recommended to arrive at the examination center one hour prior to the start time.
  3. Do not arrive late under any circumstances. In most cases, the invigilators will not allow late-comers to enter the exam hall.
  4. Do not speak in the examination room. As soon as you enter the hall, all discussions with your classrooms should come to a quiet.
  5. Bring only the materials you require. This will include a pencil, pen, rubber, scale, and a calculator if required. You are not allowed to bring in textbooks, past papers, notes, mobile phones, or backpacks. These should be left outside the examination room.
  6. Use a clear pencil case only. The invigilators may confiscate a solid colored pencil case, so it is better to stay away from them and opt for a clear one.
  7. Do not forget your examination slip and student ID card. This will be used for identification purposes. Federal Board students receive the examination slip well ahead of the commencement of exams, so be sure to remember it.
  8. Find your correct seat. Be careful not to sit down in the wrong seat, as this will cause complication and disruption during your exam. So, double check your seat before settling down.
  9. Do not make noise in the exam hall. Even asking an innocent question to another candidate is not allowed, If caught, the examiner may cancel your paper.
  10. Write your full name, enrollment number, and other required information clearly on the answer sheet.
  11. Draw a margin on the side of the answer sheet before attempting the paper. Federal Board examiners will cut marks for an unattractive, messy answer sheet.
  12. Read the question carefully before attempting to solve it. Marks will be deducted for irrelevant or incorrect answers.
  13. Keep your answer sheet neat and tidy. Do not do rough work all over the page and make a mess when scratching out answers. Keep your writing clean and legible.
  14. Follow the correct pattern for structuring your answers. You can refer to the 9th class Federal Board solved past papers to find the correct pattern for answering questions. In general, you should include headings and subheadings, and keep the answers concise and to the point.
  15. Proofread your answers before submitting the exam. Once you submit the answer sheet and leave the examination hall, you will not be allowed to re-enter and make edits. So thoroughly review your work before submitting.
