The Federal Board holds annual standardized exams for students in 9th and 10th class, called SSC Examinations. Many students struggle to study for this education board and use different types of study materials, like past papers, to improve their exam preparation.

Usually, the results for Federal Board SSC are announced in July. The pattern of examinations in Federal Board is similar to all the other education boards in Pakistan. Before the exams start, date sheets are announced. Normally, the exams for 9th class and 10th class are held on alternate days in the same time period.

All education boards in Pakistan have a grading system based on percentiles. In SSC (9th and 10th class), the grades and percentiles are divided into divisions:

Division Percentile Grades
First 60-100% A+ and A
Second 36-59% B
Third 33-35% C
Fail 0-32% F

The minimum passing marks for students in Federal Board is 33%. Percentiles above 80% are A+ and students normally need at least A+ to get into well-known and prestigious colleges in Pakistan.

If you’re one of the students who have just received their 2019 annual exams results, congratulations! Even if you think that your performance was not satisfactory in your 9th or 10th class exams, you can improve your marks. Take supplementary exams or attempt the dissatisfactory subject’s exam again next year.
