PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department on Tuesday decided to digitalize the education system of the province by launching a ‘Tablet in a School’ initiative in all the schools of the province which will enable the students to get modern quality education according to the modern needs of the world.
This decision was taken in a meeting held at Peshawar under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtun Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Shahram Khan. This initiative is part of the digitalization of the working system of schools.
Under this project tablets would be distributed among all the schools of KP which will provide complete information on a daily basis about the attendance of teachers, students, available facilities, and also informed about the details of current and vacant posts of teachers in schools, among others issues.
During this meeting, Shahram Khan Tarakai also ordered all the concerned authorities to design a plan for the smooth execution of this project and also directed them to include Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board for all the assistance on designing of software and other technical matters.
Additional Secretary Reforms Ashfaq Ahmed was also present in this meeting and was directed by The minister for the preparation of a proposal for immediate provision of furniture in the merged districts.
The Minister during this meeting asked the educational authorities about the implementation of the second shift schools program in the schools and also discussed other programs started by the educational departments in the province. He directed the finalization of the promotion cases of teachers of different scales within a week.
Managing Director Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation Zarif Al-Maani was also ordered by the minister to give a detailed briefing on the institution next week in which the progress of the institution would be reviewed.
