NCOC announces the date for schools reopening

ISLAMABAD:  National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) arranged a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the reopening of schools under the chairmanship of  NCOC Chief, Asad Umar.

In the press conference organized afterward, Asad Umer announced that the government has decided to reopen schools in five major districts of Punjab and one city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, from September 16.

He further states that  NCOC placed strict restrictions on 24 districts throughout the country in the first week of September due to increased positive cases of corona in the country but now out of 24 districts, strict restrictions will only be imposed in only six districts while the rest of district has been allowed to resume their activities.

The six districts in which the restrictions imposed by NCOC will be retained include Lahore, Faislabad, Multan, Gujrat, Sargodha, and Bannu districts

 He also mentions that schools in these six districts will resume on-campus classes from September 16, with 50% attendance in classes.

The minster also allows the buses to resume inter-city transport but they can only accommodate  50% of total passenger capacity.
