Pakistan launches Pak-China Science Education Cooperation Project

On 25 May a three-year-long project for youth on science education was initiated in Beijing. This marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations that has benefitted both countries in its interval.  

The cooperative plan was started after a joint meeting between China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF).

The plan strives to deliver teacher’s training, resource transfer, science, and education projects for our youth in the following three years. 

Ms. Yang from Center China while explaining the purpose of the project to reporters stated that online lectures, sharing case studies, a website providing courses for teachers and programs for students, and scientific laboratories are essential factors that will create roadmaps for improvement in Pakistani schools.

The CAST and PSF together signed a Letter of Intent for science education cooperation that solidified the noble cause. Additionally, a cooperation initiative of school alliance on science education was also launched which focuses on thousands of Pakistani teachers and students. The aim is to empower and promote better educational standards. 

Meng Qinghai, Vice Chairman of CAST appreciated the valuable achievement for science and educational development, mutual growth, training, and cultural exchanges. 

Last year the CAST, PSF, and other institutions joined hands to launch the Preparatory Committee of the World Public Science Literacy Organization that celebrated international public science literacy.

Dr. Shahid Mahmood Baig, PSF Chairman, acknowledged the project and expressed enthusiasm for learning from  CAST Children and Youth Science Center to promote scientific undertakings in Pakistan.
