Pakistan will hire almost 5000 Chinese language teachers in future

On 27th May, 2021, the Director China Culture Center, Mr. Zhang Heqing talked about the possibility of 5000 vacancies for Chinese language learners in Pakistan. He shared the news while acting as the chairman for a webinar named “CPEC & New Direction of Chinese Teaching in Pakistan.”

The webinar was held at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) by their Department of Chinese Language, Faculty of Languages. The event was supervised by Dr. Aftab Azeem, Head of Chinese department and Ms. Sadaf Jabbar.

The key speakers for this webinar were Dr. Zhang Daojian, Vice President Confucius Institute Islamabad, Dr. Zhang Jiamei, Associate Professor School of Foreign Languages, Peking University China, Dr. Liu Yao, Associate Professor, Huanggang Normal University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Safeer Awan, Pro-Rector (Acads) and Dr. Shahid Siddiqui, Dean Faculty of Languages NUML.\

The chairman of webinar, Mr. Heqing shared the potential benefits of learning chinese language and the opportunities it can unlock because of CPEC. According to him “CPEC is a game changer for Pakistan” by outlining its strategic, geographical, economical, and social significance.

During his address, Dr. Shahid Siddique, Dean Faculty of Language NUML talked about the increasing demand of Chinese language teachers as it is now being taught at the school, college, and university levels in Pakistan. 

In the end while concluding the webinar, Mr. Heqing offered the full support from both Chinese Embassy and China Cultural Centre for promoting the teaching of Chinese Language in Pakistan. This initiative is believed to strengthen the friendly ties with our neighbouring country China.
