Inquiry against Education Department Sindh for Rs.3bn fraudulent

KARACHI: As per the reports  received on Wednesday it is known that PTI government demanded full investigation from Sindh government on buying of schools desks at a rate of Rs23,895- Rs29,500 per unit which caused embezzlement of approximately 3 billion rupees in the government financial account.

While addressing a press conference, Sindh Assembly Opposition leader,  Haleem Adil Sheikh informed the media that each desk costed him the price of just 5,000 rupees whereas the Sindh government bought the same desk at a price of 29,500 which is a 320% higher rate than the original cost which costed the government 3 billion extra money.

He accused Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani of buying the desk at such a high rate and blamed him for using this money on his lavish lifestyle when the people of Sindh are living in poor conditions.

The PTI opposition leader also highlighted the issue to the chief minister of Sindh Pakistan through an official letter and requested full investigations against the officials of the Education Department Sindh who are involved in this scandal.

Through his press conference, he also requested the supreme court of Pakistan and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to carry a complete and transparent investigation against this corruption and demand to bring the culprits in front of the Sindh people. 

He also demanded investigation about the shutting down of 10,000 ghost schools across Sindh and asked the government to find the people behind the opening of these schools in the first place.

He also talked about the SNC and said that it is unfair with the students of Sindh that the government is not implementing SNC-approved books in the province.
