PU improves at the QS World University Rankings

LAHORE: Vice Chancellor Punjab University Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed has mentioned in an interview that the QS World University Rankings has ranked 13 subjects at PU  while the institute of Petroleum Engineering has ranked among the top 100 to 150 institutions of the world.

Prof. Niaz Ahmed Akhter said that QS has been correctly recognized by the Punjab government and Punjab Higher Education Commission. QS has regarded Punjab University Lahore among the top 78.5 percent of universities in the world. As PU has been exceptionally improving it is expected that by the year 2022 it will be among the 61.6 percent among the best universities in the world.

He further added that astonishingly PU’s Asia rankings have grown 54 times within the past two years. Punjab University has also been regarded as number one in publications related to the fields of natural sciences. VC also highlighted the importance of a sound budget in the research areas in different fields. He said that the allocation of Rs 380 million in the research sector is bearing fruit for the institution. 

In the end, he acknowledged the tireless efforts of Chairman Ranking Committee Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood for the betterment of the university’s standings. He was also obliged by PU faculty members, employees, and students for making the institute prosper.
