Pakistan Railways has launched a tourist train in Balochistan in order to promote tourism in the province. Fares will range between Rs20 and Rs50 for trains connecting Quetta with Bostan and Kolpur.
At a ceremony held at Quetta Railways Station, Divisional Superintendent Engineer Akhtar Mahmood inaugurated the train service.
A train carrying large numbers of tourists left Quetta for Bostan on the first day of the train trip. A number of tourists enthusiastically praised the service and called it an important milestone for the province’s tourism promotion.
Engineer Mahmood said this initiative is launched after the exclusive request of the provincial government who is planning to encourage the inflow of tourists in the region.
“The train will run between Quetta and Bostan and Quetta and Kolpur every Saturday and Sunday,” said he, explaining that tourist trains would charge a low fare.
