Recently, The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) also announced the decision of implementing reform in their education system. The update was shared via their twitter account.
The board has decided to revamp their typical method of assessment i.e. question and answers. Instead the newly announced system will assess students based on curriculum and learning objectives as opposed to textbooks.
Currently, as a first phase of this project, the reforms will be implemented in nine major subjects; English Compulsory, Urdu Compulsory, Islamiat, Pakistan Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics.
As of now, the amendments will only apply to SSC and HSSC levels. While preparing for these newly reformed exams, students can study from any books that align with the course contents rather than sticking to a single book.
Steps such as these are essential for developing critical thinking and self-learning skills among the students of matric and intermediate level.
