After 27 years, the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage opened its first rooftop open-air theatre for cultural activities. The theatre is located near Shakarparian in Islamabad.
While addressing a media outlet, Executive Director Lok Virsa Talha Ali Kushvaha Sunday said, “Open-air theatre has been opened for the general public, cultural activities, musical concerts, and youth programs.”
In addition to new technology, the theatre has been renovated to change its outlook, offering audiences a lush green environment to sit in and enjoy the theatre. He further informed that the theatre offers an outstanding view of Pakistan monument and picturesque landscape of Margalla hills along with the fresh air and greenery.
A series of artistic programs has also been launched by Lok Virsa in order to engage young people in positive and productive activities in the theatre. One of the upcomings events include a rocknite with bands like “Bay Naam” and “Rebel Club” at the rooftop museum on 18th July.
