Students protested against irregularities by PMC in conduction of MDCAT

ISLAMABAD: According to the reports received on Wednesday it is learnt that medical students gathered up at 11:00 am  in front of Pakistan Medical Commission in Islamabad to carry out the protest against PMC. Slogans like “One Nation, One MDCAT” , “Shame on PMC” and “PM take notice” are being chanted.

Students are raising their voices against the injustice and irregularities committed by PMC in MDCAT.

Various irregularities in the test are witnessed and are now being protested against such as: tests not being checked according to the correct answer key. Moreover, even the official answer key was not provided to the students. PMC violated its own act by prolonging the conduction of the test to 1 month for FSc students.

Furthermore, there were several irregularities in the online test. PMC has been accused of doing favoritism multiple times and this time too such instances have come forward. It is being said that tests containing easy questions are being taken by certain chosen or favorite students which implies that difficulty level is not the same for all the students.

The question pool is not wide enough, hence, the test is being leaked and the same questions are being asked in the test.

Dr. Tariq Mehmood, executive director of  Muhammadan Educational system AJK disclosed that each year due to injustice done by PMC, only 10% students pass the test and 80% students flunk it.

He advised the students not to worry and not give up. He also called the attention of concerned authorities and said that they should find the solution to this problem as soon as possible.

He further added that there are approximately just 60 tests and they are being repeated. He stated that the syllabus of all provinces is different but when the Test is taken by PMC, the content of all the four provinces’ syllabus is added in it which is unfair.

He suggested that tests should be taken according to old methods and tests should be taken from relevant syllabus. He requested PMC not to become the reason for destroying students’ future.
