ISLAMABAD: Federal Directorate Education(FDE) through an official notification on Wednesday ordered all the principles of Islamabad schools and colleges to vaccinate students above 12. The notice also mentioned that the Pfizer vaccine will be administered to students aged between 12 and 18 as per the NCOC guidelines.
FDE also ordered the educational institutes to collect B-form from the parents for their children below the age of 18 as per notification of the National Immunisation Management System.
After the deadline, the students who are unvaccinated will not be allowed to appear in any examination or enter school or college after the deadline mentioned in the notification. However, the students who are unwilling to get vaccinated must submit a legit medical certificate to the educational institute.
The notice further informed the concerned authorities that mobile teams of the district health officer will visit all the educational institutions for the vaccination of students to ensure complete vaccination of the students before the deadline.
Earlier this month, due to the increase in Covid patients across the country, it was decided by the Federal Education Department on the suggestion of the Health Department to start the vaccination campaign in all the educational institutes of Pakistan and on Monday, 27th September during a meeting held at NCOC, the government decided to start the vaccination drive in schools for all the students of age 12 and above. The purpose of this campaign is to ensure on-campus classes of students without any interruption.
