7 Scholarships for Undergraduate Students in Pakistan

Getting into the prestigious universities of Pakistan is a feat in itself, but it gets extra difficult for students from underprivileged students due their high tuition fees. But don’t worry! 1. Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program

A need-based scholarship that is one of the largest of its kind in Pakistan, was launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan on March 27, 2019.  Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program covers full tuition fee and living cost i.e. Rs 40,000 for each year. 

The scholarship will last for the entire duration of a student’s academic degree and supports upto 50,000 students each year. You can check the eligibility requirements, application deadline, and link to the portal via the HEC website.

2. Scottish Scholarship For Undergraduate Studies (For Females only)

A collaborative initiative between the Pakistani and Scottish governments for Young Women and Girls pursuing 4 years bachelors degree in selected disciplines (Education, Sustainable Energy, Food Security and Agriculture, and Health Sciences) of selected universities. The scholarship is fully funded covering both academic and living costs. 

The tentative deadline is around 15th September every year. You can find further information and application link at British Council website.

3. KFC Higher Education Scholarship for Undergraduate Students in Pakistan

A product of Orange Tree Foundation and KFC Bhook Mitao Program, that is aimed to uplift the youth of Pakistan through academic and economic empowerment. All the students enrolled in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at HEC recognized university can apply for this.

4. Rehmatul Lil Alameen Scholarship For Inter And Undergraduate Students

Launched by the Prime Minister Imran Khan earlier this year, Rehmatul lil Alameen scholarship caters to students of both intermediate and undergraduate. However, only students with a domicile of Punjab are eligible to apply to this funding opportunity.

50% of this scholarship amount is reserved for female students to encourage them to pursue higher education. The application link is available at the website of Punjab Government’s Higher education Department.

5. PEC Scholarship Scheme

This merit and need based scholarship program by Pakistan Engineering Council is focused to help the students from Baluchistan, Gilgit­ Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Tribal Areas, including KP, Sindh, and Punjab.

The primary requirement is the admission proof in an PEC accredited university and the family income of less than Rs. 50, 000 per month. The deadline for the 2021 cycle is 10-03-2021.

6. NTS Need Based Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Students in Pakistan

This is offered to all undergraduate and postgraduate disciplines of TS Associated Universities / Institutions in Pakistan. Students are not required to provide the admission proof at the time of application. 

It includes a complete tuition fee and living expenses of worth Rs 25, 000 each semester. The application form can be downloaded from the website of NTS and then submitted to the relevant university for processing.

7. Pak-USAID Merit And Need Based Scholarship Program

One of the scholarships for undergraduate students in Pakistan is this collaborative endeavor with an international government that supports the higher education of students in Pakistan. The scholarship covers tuition fee, lodging, breeding, books, transport, and other academic costs.

50% scholarships will be reserved for female students. Both the governments have collaborated up to 35 universities to facilitate students from all academic backgrounds. Application link can be found at the HEC website.
