Foundation University, Islamabad is a private sector university that is a project of the Fauji Foundation, the largest welfare organization in Pakistan. It was established in 2002, under a Federal Charter.
The head campus is located in the capital city of Islamabad. However, there is also a campus located in Rawalpindi and Sialkot. This makes a total of three campuses in Pakistan.
The Foundation University Islamabad campus consists of the University Secretariat, Foundation University Medical College (FUMC), Foundation University College of Dentistry & Hospital (FUCD&H), Foundation University Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (FUIRS), Foundation University College of Nursing (FUCN) and Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH) which is a teaching hospital for FUMC, FUCN and FUIRS.

FUI was established as a project of the Fauji Foundation, with approval and accreditation from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Pakistan. In fact, the HEC has awarded FUI with category ‘W4’ ranking, which is the highest rating category according to the HEC.
In addition to this, the academic programs offered by FUI are duly accredited by Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC), National Technology Council (NTC) and Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).
There are several programs offered in Foundation University Islamabad, across its three campuses. One such affiliation is with University of Bedfordshire (UOB), UK, under which a 3+1 Transnational Education program has been materialized for the students of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering (BSSE), Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology, who shall complete their first three years of education at FUI and the last year at UOB. The graduates will be eligible for a grant of UOB (UK) recognized degree, duly approved by the accrediting bodies of both UK and Pakistan.
FUI places a strong emphasis on professional accreditations. Students hence have plenty of opportunities to gain hands-on experience in real life situations through case studies or practical work in our state-of-the art facilities and laboratories.

Students who are interested in getting admission in FUI can do so by applying for the Fall semester or Spring semester. The Fall semester commences in September of each year, with admissions opening from April. On the other hand, the Spring semester takes place in February of each year.
Intermediate students who are interested in applying for admission in FUI after the completion of the final exams can do so by completing the application form with accurate and up to date information. The application form is available online on the official FUI website. Students must complete the application form and download the fee slip.
The admission processing fee must be deposited in any Askari Bank branch, Students must then upload the educational documents along with proof of payment of the fee, on the admissions portal.
Once the application and related documents have been submitted, students will receive the roll number slip. Students must appear for the entry test, which may be conducted physically or online. The syllabus for the test follows the intermediate exams syllabus, and students can find exam preparation resources, past papers, and sample papers to prepare.
Students who score well on the entry test will be named on the merit list, and will be considered for admission.

Once students have been successfully enrolled in the Foundation University, Islamabad, they will be invited for an orientation day to become familiar with the campus. The semester will then regularly begin from September for the Fall semester, and February for the Spring semester.
