How To Give A Supplementary Exam

If you have already appeared for your BISE board exams and have not received the marks you required, then you must get ready to appear for your supplementary exams. This may be more stressful for you if you are worried that you may not pass your exam for a second time. However, as long as you remain determined and steadfast in your exam preparation, you should be able to pass your supplementary exam and move on to the next class.

The most important thing when preparing for your supplementary exam is to stay focused. Since it is an out-of-season exam, not as many students will be appearing as the final exam. So, it will be up to you to remain motivated and focused. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your supplementary exam preparation.

Identify Your Weak Areas

Try to pinpoint the mistakes you made during the final exam that could have caused you to fail. For example, was there a specific question that you messed up on, or were you simply unprepared for the subject in general? Once you identify your weak areas, you can focus on improving it for the supplementary exam. This will prevent you from repeating the same mistakes that made you underperform the first time.

Review The Syllabus

Chances are that you still remember some topics from the course when you begin preparing for your supplementary exam. Despite this, it is still important to go through the entire course once again, so that you do not miss out or mix up on any topic. Moreover, reviewing the syllabus will give you a refresher of the entire course and can help solidify your concepts even further.

Ask For Help

Be sure to seek help for any topic, point, or detail, that you do not understand. Simply moving on when you do not understand a topic can cost you big-time on the supplementary exam and will prevent you from truly clearing your concepts for that particular topic. So, do not be afraid to reach out for help, whether it be from a teacher, classmate, parent, or online educational platform.

Past Papers

Do not neglect to practice BISE past papers! This is what will help you gain the confidence and skill to successfully attempt your supplementary exam. Solving BISE past papers will give you a clear idea of the paper pattern, the types of questions asked, marks allocation, etc… Be sure to prepare the past 5 years past papers for your relevant educational board. For example, if you are appearing for Karachi Board supplementary exams, then obtain Karachi Board past papers from 2014 to 2018.

Solved Past Papers

Another important study tool that should be utilized during your supplementary exam preparation is solved past papers. These solved past papers are developed by subject professionals and expert teachers, so they will help you learn the proper answer structure for each question and which information should be included in each topic.

Reading through the solved BISE past papers of your educational board, e.g. Karachi Board past papers from 2014 to 2018, will hence show you the best way to attempt the exam for your relevant educational board. Thus, solved BISE past papers will give you sufficient exam preparation to ensure that you effectively attempt your supplementary exam and pass.

Be Consistent

While you may feel demotivated and low after receiving the marks of your final exam, you must remain consistent for your supplementary exam preparation. You can easily pass the supplementary exam as long as you put in the required hard work.
